Jessie took a deep breath as she looked into the mirror. She was wearing a black tanktop with slim-fitting jeans and a pair of black flipflops. She was carrying a satchel that contained more clothing and some bottled water. This was the day she would finally get to begin her pokemon career. She took another deep breath before heading downstairs to leave. Her mother had just recently returned from her three-year stay at the hospital. Her mother was still heavily medicated, and Jessie didn't really want to bother her. She simply scribbled down a note for her parents to read.
"Dear Mom and Dad,
I've gone to Professor Oak's to pick out my pokemon. I won't be seeing you guys for a long time and I thought this would be best so that I wouldn't cause a scene. I'll be back sometime, I just don't know when.
Love always,
Jessie"
With that, she placed the note on the kitchen table and briskly walked out of her house and in the direction of the famous Professor Oak Laboratory. She already knew what pokemon she wanted, and she was more than determined to get it.
